It looks as though Jill Duggar's birth story was every bit as intense as it sounds. The reality television star opens up about being in labor for 70 hours and having her famous parents, Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar, by her side while she and husband Derick Dillard welcomed their son Israel David into the world.

According to People magazine this week, Duggar had quite a "dramatic" delivery which made her son's arrival pretty difficult.

Spending about 70 hours in labor, Duggar tested positive for strep B, which is a bacteria that is commonly found during birth, but also requires antibiotics.

Her mother Michelle told the magazine in a new interview, "There were times I looked into her eyes during contractions where I wanted to cry. I know how horrific it is to go through that, and I did everything I could not break into tears."

Jill herself added, "I was praying to God to give me strength. I was really scared and nervous, but I was praying."

According to Us Weekly last Wednesday, Duggar and Derick welcomed their son late on Monday night. The couple shared a video from her hospital bed explaining exactly what went down in the delivery room.

Derick began by saying, "Hey everybody, it's Derick and Jill Dillard, and we've got an exciting birth announcement. Not everything went as expected. We were reminded of the verse that the Bible talks about where man plans his way but the Lord directs his steps. We were encouraged by that and yeah, he's just a handsome little fellow."
