During the last 20 seconds of last week's episode, the beloved Jake Ballard was presumably killed at the hands of Olivia Pope's father Rowan.

In Thursday night's new episode First Lady Sings The Blues, Liv and her team will find out that Jake has been stabbed and while new spoiler photos suggest that Jake is still alive, in Shondaland, nothing is ever what it seems to be.

ABC is giving fans the first extended look into the new episode when Quinn Perkins learns that something horrible has happened to Jake. In the video, which can be seen below, Quinn returns to work having learned that Liv's dangerous father has returned and what she sees next is jaw-dropping.

Actress Kerry Washington, who plays the role of the fierce D.C. crisis manager Ms. Pope, took to Twitter on Thursday morning to tease fans about the upcoming episode and it looks like something shocking could happen during the one hour show.

"It is Scandal Thursday people!!!! Do you think you're ready?"

Fans are as ready as they'll ever be and anxiously waiting to see what tricks show creator Shonda Rhimes has up her sleeves this week.
