Although it appeared Duff and her husband, Mike Comrie, were headed for a reconcilation months ago, the pair have since confirmed the end of their marriage, and now, they could be headed for a custody battle over their two-year-old son.

"Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie were known as Hollywood’s most amicable exes. But after the former hockey player responded to the actress’ divorce petition, it looks like they’re gearing up for a heated custody battle over their son Luca!" OK! Magazine reported on Thursday.

Duff and Comrie began dating in 2007, and tied the knot on Aug. 14, 2010, just six months after announcing their engagement. In March 2012, their son, Luca Cruz Comrie, arrived, and in Jan. 2014, Duff and Comrie revealed they were separating. However, since then, the couple have been seen together several times, and most recently were seen holding hands at a Halloween party in Los Angeles.

"The Younger star requested primary custody of her 3-year-old son with visitation rights for her ex when she filed for divorce in February," the magazine explained, adding, "When Mike filed his response on April 16, he asked for joint legal and physical custody of the tot. He also requested that they divide their assets to follow their prenuptial agreement."
