The Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa, Fla. welcomed a newborn clouded leopard kitten on March 7 into the world.

The zoo handlers named the endangered male kitten Mowgli after The Jungle Book character of the same name.

These cats are native to Southeast Asia, but due to deforestation and poaching they are becoming closer and closer to extinction. Zoos take them in hopes of preserving them and growing their population. They may be in captivity, but they are well cared for and the zoo that Mowgli is in is really pushing for spreading the message about these cats.

Mowgli was the first kitten born to the zoo's pair of 4-year-old clouded leopards, Yim (his father) and Malee (his mother).

Mowgli's birth "signifies a milestone accomplishment in our conservation programs at Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo," Dr. Larry Killmar, VP of animal science and conservation, said.

The zoo, in a few adorable videos, which we cannot get over, has captured Mowgli's progress since his birth.

Just a few weeks ago on April 9, Mowgli got his first look outside of the zoo's veterinary hospital.

He has the most adorable squeak and absolutely enjoys a good belly rub. The markings on his belly are beautiful.

The zoo also revealed what he was like at 1-week-old during bath time. Let's just say he is one calm kitty. The water appeared to relax him and make him get a tad sleepy.

When he hit his 2-week-old mark, the zoo captured him trying to fight off sleep after a feeding and it's absolutely precious as he yawns and wiggles about.

Here's the video of a feeding of his at the 2-week-old mark, which shows off his hearty appetite.

Here is another feeding video, but it's from when he was only a 1-week-old kitten and his squeaks are lively as he suckles on the bottle's nipple.

Mowgli will leave you speechless and smiling in the next video, which shows him talking quite a bit. There are not enough words to describe how cute this clouded leopard kitten is!

Another bath time was captured at the 2-week-old mark, but Mowgli wasn't as compliant as he squeaked in protest the entire time.

On Thursday, the zoo uploaded a more recent video of 6-week-old Mowgli during lunchtime and then during a meet and greet with some adoring fans.

Mowgli will probably grow to be about 35-50 pounds.
