New 'Law And Order: SVU' Episode Tackles Columbia University Rape Case

As previously reported, The Walking Dead star Dallas Roberts is joining forces with NBC for the second crossover event and the actor is playing the role of a suspected serial killer.

According to E! Online, showrunner Warren Leight recently talked to press about the back-story surrounding the crossover event and apparently producers have been plotting the story for quite some time.

"And then here at SVU we've been kicking an idea around for a long time about a serial rapist/murderer who in the mode of a Ted Bundy kind of guy-incredibly charming, incredibly manipulative, able to get away with these crimes for a very, very long time across multiple jurisdictions," Leight said. "And when the idea of a crossover came up, Dick [Wolf] suggested I donate that idea to the crossover. It was going to be a two-parter for us. Then it became instead, I think, a good template...we knew we had enough for two episodes whether they were two SVU episodes or as it turned out, this crossover."

The three episode crossover event begins on Tuesday, April 28 with Chicago Fire at 10 p.m. and continues with Chicago P.D. and Law and Order: SVU on Wednesday at 9 and 10 p.m. on NBC.
