Amber Portwood and Gary Shirley are on much better terms than they were during filming on the currently airing Teen Mom OG.

While the pair are currently at odds on the MTV reality show, Portwood and Shirley have a much different relationship off-screen months later, and in a new tweet, Shirley revealed just how far they've come.

"Thank you to @AmberLPortwood for picking up @leah_leann and holding the baby briefly!" Shirley wrote on Twitter on Monday morning. "Kind of you!"

At the end of last week, Shirley announced on Twitter that he and girlfriend Kristina Anderson has welcomed their first child together, the second for both parties, who each have an older daughter from previous relationships.

Shirley and Anderson began dating a short time after Portwood entered prison to serve a 5-year terms. At the time she began her sentence, Portwood believed she and Shirley would be together once she was released. However, when that day came in early Nov. 2013, Shirley wasn't open to the idea, and their relationship became strained.

Now, it appears Shirley and Portwood, who recently became engaged to boyfriend Matthew Baier, are on good terms, and finally able to co-parent their 6-year-old daughter, Leah.
