Fans finally said goodbye to Kalinda (Archie Panjabi) in the finale of season 6 of The Good Wife on the evening on May 10.

Alicia To Be More 'Humble' And Will 'Soften' In The Finale   

Kalinda had a few moments of closure, and the most crucial and much-awaited one was with Alicia (Julianna Margulies). Kalinda and Alicia shared shots of tequila like they did in the initial episodes of the show, and wished they had had another chance at their friendship. Alicia concedes that she would have done things differently. Panjabi has finally moved on from the show, and in a recent interview with the BBC she revealed what motivated her decision and what her last day of filming on the set of The Good Wife was like.

Panjabi had made the decision to leave a good two years ago, and the two seasons that followed had been a long drawn out farewell for her.

Alicia And Peter's Public Image Will Be Threatened In The Finale 

"I decided two years ago," she said, "I felt it was the right time."

One of the reasons that spurred her to move on from Kalinda was that she felt that she might not have been able to stay true to her character after six years. Her artistic vision was compromised as after such a long period playing Kalinda became a complacent space for her.

"But one of the things I love most is being able to develop that character and create something that is so different from me and I think, after six years, I feel if I continue playing her I wouldn't have that equilibrium," she said.

While talking about her last day of filming and saying goodbyes, Panjabi suggested that she did it in true Kalinda style.

"Everybody was a little sad," she said. "We had tequilas and we all celebrated and then I got up on the bar in my boots and thanked everybody."

"And then I just walked out."

Panjabi reasserted this in an interview with Entertainment Weekly as well.

"The only way I could do this was to get up and give a speech. Part of me was thinking that Kalinda would do the same thing. She would just get up, make that speech, and then walk out the door. So I did," she said.

The finale, entitled 'Wanna Partner?' aired on CBS on May 10.
