Tamra Barney is back for a 10th season of The Real Housewives of Orange County.

In a new interview, the reality star opened up about the hardships of season nine, and revealed she nearly didn't return to the show for season 10.

“I was privately going through some major personal stuff,” Barney explained to Real Mr. Housewife on Monday. “Being accused of so many horrible things? Personally I was a mess. I look back now and I don’t even know how I made it through season 9. The show was really the last thing on my mind. I think this season will shed some light on what happened last season.”

After The Real Housewives of Orange County season nine wrapped, Barney said she was unsure of a return, but after having a few months to cool off, she decided to return to reality.

In addition to time, Barney has experienced a major milestone in recent months -- she became a grandmother for the very first time. Earlier this year, her oldest child, son Ryan Vieth, welcomed daughter Ava with fiance Sarah Rodriguez, with whom he is now planning a wedding.

“I think they will see a softer side of me," Barney said of what fans can expect from season 10. "I become a grandmother and take a spiritual journey in my life that I’m excited to share with everyone.”

"Also, we have a death to a birth and everything in between. The season is very raw with real life issues,” Barney added.

The Real Housewives of Orange County premieres on June 8 at 9 p.m. on Bravo.
