The 50th anniversary special episodes of Days of Our Lives are fast approaching, but fans still have no idea what they can expect when they begin to air.

Serena & Xander's Secrets Are Exposed

The storylines which will take center stage during the special episodes airing later this year are being kept closely guarded it seems and the cast has remained mostly tight-lipped--though some significant details that have been released concerning returning cast members may be giving fans a hint about one specific thing they can expect.

Here's everything we know so far about the Days of Our Lives 50th Anniversary:

Brady & Melanie Share An Emotional Goodbye

A Lot Of Brady Family Members Are Coming Back To Salem:

The Brady family has seen a lot of its members still living in Salem dwindle over the years, but when the 50th anniversary rolls around, several will be back--including Bo (Peter Reckell), Sami (Allison Sweeney) and Shawn (Jason Cook), with many suspecting Shawn's wife, Belle (Martha Madison) to also return.

Steve 'Patch' Johnson Is Also Headed Back To Salem:

Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) could find herself drawn to her former husband once again after he heads back to town with his best bud Bo.

Chloe Is Also Making A Highly Anticipated Appearance:

It will be interesting to see how she plays a role in Daniel's life when she returns, especially if Daniel and Nicole (Arianne Zucker) have once again reconciled their differences and started a relationship together.

Other than these characters once again appearing on the soap, not much else has been revealed about the 50th anniversary--though the return of several Brady family members has led to some speculation about just why they're all returning.

According to Celebrity Dirty Laundry, a partial script was leaked with set locations for an episode airing this fall, with an operating room listed as one of them, meaning they can all return to support a loved one who has fallen ill and could pass away.

Considering the bulk of returning characters are in fact Bradys, that has led to speculation that Caroline's (Peggy McCay) Alzheimer's disease may progress quicker and she could wind up being so sick that she's on the verge of death--prompting the return of her family as they all say their final goodbyes to the iconic character.
