Melissa Rivers will reportedly take her mother's spot on the upcoming season of E!'s Fashion Police.

Kathy Griffin Has Quit 'Fashion Police,' Releases Statement On Twitter

Nearly one year after Joan Rivers tragically died after a throat surgery reportedly gone wrong, her daughter, Melissa, has allegedly signed on to appear in front of the camera after years of working behind the scenes.

“Melissa is saying that she is going to host the show. No one understands the show more than she does and this is what her mother would want,” a source recently told Naughty Gossip, according to a report by Radar Online on Tuesday.

Kelly Osbourne Officially Quits Fashion Police, No Replacement Has Yet Been Chosen

Following Joan Rivers' death, Fashion Police was plagued with a series of unfortunate incidents, including Giuliana Rancic's alleged racist comments regarding Zendaya Coleman, and the sudden exits of her fellow hosts, Kathy Griffin and Kelly Osbourne.

“Kathy Griffin quit after just seven episodes and slammed the entire concept of mocking celebrity fashions on her way,” said the source. “Melissa will never forgive her for that.”

“She now see’s it as part of her mother’s legacy to see that the show survives,” a second source added. “Many think that the show is not salvageable. But Melissa is trying to convince the network that all will be great again if she becomes one of the hosts.”

Fashion Police returns to the E! Network this September.
