In the latest revelation from the controversial book about Whitney Houston and her daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown, the author Ian Halperin makes pretty shocking claims against police who are investigating Brown’s latest incident.

The now 22-year-old was found unconscious and unresponsive in the bathtub of her Roswell, Ga. home on Jan. 31.

Since then, police haven’t been able to wrap their finger around what happened. But Halperin seems to think they dropped the ball on the high profile case.

New Book Uncovers Dangerous Relationship Between Whitney Houston & Bobbi Kristina Brown

Halperin spoke with The Wrap on the unauthorized biography called Whitney & Bobbi Kristina: The Deadly Price of Fame that has already gotten lots of attention and backlash. During the interview he dropped another bomb and said, “Police have botched the investigation, mainly because they are basically a small-town police department with limited resources. I’m suggesting that the Atlanta PD takes it over.”

Halperin also made claim in his book that Brown was addicted to drugs at 14-years-old, that she was suicidal and even tried to stab her mother. Halperin added that he was intrigued to write the book after knowing Houston’s father back in the day.

“When Bobbi had the accident I guess my journalistic instinct took over. I felt, as sad as the story is, and it’s a very tragic story, I felt that there was a need to get to what really happened.”

He said he also raised his eyebrows at the crowd Brown was running with, including her longtime boyfriend Nick Gordon.

“When [the incident] happened, I felt it was important to get the truth out there, to get the story behind the story.
