'Shadowhunters' TV Show: Iconic Location Teased, Where Will Clary's Adventures Take Her?

Heartland's Kaitlyn Leeb will jump into the ABC Family sci-fi series as the leader of the New York vampire clan. The mythical chaos of the Downworld is happy to have you, Ms. Leeb.

Based on Cassandra Clare's Mortal Instrument series, the 2016 drama will introduce viewers to New York City's supernatural underworld, as seen through the eyes of Clary Fray (Katherine McNamara). Following her mother's disappearance, Clary will quickly learn that she is no ordinary teen. Instead, she is actually a Shadwhunter, an angel/human hybrid tasked with hunting down demons.

As Clary teems up her pal Simon (Alberto Rosende) and a fellow nephylim named Jace (Dominic Sherwood), the new mythological warrior will need to unravel the truth about her past and the mystery of the Mortal Cup in order to save her mother. Vampires, werewolves, and everything else that goes bump in the night will also enter the story - some as friends and others as dire enemies.

Shadowhunters will reboot the story seen in in 2013 film, The Mortal Instruments: City Of Bones, and will feature an entirely new cast.
