Jon Bon Jovi's daughter was arrest after supposedly overdosing on illegal drugs.

Stephanie Rose Bongiovi was found in her dorm room Wednesday at Hamilton College after an overdose of heroin.

Police were called in the morning to the Upstate New York campus in Kirkland where the 19-year-old girl was found unresponsive.

According to People, emergency medical personnel brought her to a nearby hospital where she received treatment. She is expected to be released sometime today.

Bongiovi is understood to have received medical treatment and is set to be released from hospital at some point on Wednesday.

The Kirkland Police Department did a search of the student's dorm and found a "small quantity" of heroin along with marijuana and undisclosed drug paraphernalia. Bongiovi was later charged with suspicion of possession of a controlled, substance possession of marijuana and criminally using drug paraphernalia.

Police also arrested and charged 21-year-old student Ian S. Grant, a 21-year-old student from Red Bank New Jersey, on suspicion of drug possession.

TMZ reports that Bongiovi was released from police custody and must appear for court at an unknown date to answer for the misdemeanor charges.

The daughter of the 50-year-old Bon Jovi front-man is studying at the respectable Hamilton University while also working toward an aspiring career as a model.

Hamilton College says it is working with police during their investigation. The college said in a statement: "Our first concern is always for the safety of our students. Out of respect for the privacy of our students and in accordance with federal regulations we do not discuss individual health or disciplinary matters."

The news will no doubt come as a huge blow to Jon, 50, who these days prides himself on his family-man reputation.

Stephanie is the only daughter to the famous rocker and the oldest of four children, who he shares with wife Dorothea Hurley.
