Earlier this year, there had been great speculation about the return of the original cast of the Transformers series, i.e. Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox, for Transformers 5.

A Bumblebee Spin-off Is In The Works?

As there was no confirmation about the Age of Extinction cast reprising their roles the rumor mills were favoring a grand comeback for the original duo. In fact both Fox and LaBeouf were asked on different occasions about the possibility of them starring in another Transformers movie. LaBeouf sounded very skeptical about the prospect, stating that it would be highly unlikely. The actor also went on to staunch any rumors of his return by obliquely dissing the franchise in another recent interview. But Fox has been vaguely open to the idea, suggesting she would be happy to do a cameo in the upcoming movie if the opportunity arises.

It is understandable that to find a way to rework Fox's character into the Age of Extinction sequel is a long shot, but now with some recent developments the producers of the franchise could make things very exciting for fans if they so wish it. A big, impressive team of writers are currently hacking out story ideas for not just the Transformers 5 but prospective prequels and sequels. The fact that "prequels" for the series might be on its way, really puts a new spin on things. If this were actually to happen, Fox's character could be brought back, not only for a cameo but for a pivotal part.
