As the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge prepare for their daughter's christening this weekend, there are a few people close to the couple who are reportedly in consideration to be the godparents.

Kate Middleton & Prince William Are Reportedly Coming To America

On Tuesday, Daily Mail announced that a couple family members and friends of Kate Middleton and Prince William are in the running to be the godmother and godfather of Princess Charlotte who was born last May. Right now, those in the running include Pippa Middleton (Kate's sister), Peter Phillips (William's cousin) and Rose van Cutsem.

The announcement is expected to happen shortly before the christening service takes place on Sunday.

The site mentioned some other names in the frame, which include Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie. Apparently, it looks as though William's brother Harry will not be considered and will likely not be at the event.

According to People, Kate and William are exited for Charlotte's big day and are gracious for the public's support.

"The Duke and Duchess are hugely grateful for the warm wishes they have received since Princess Charlotte's birth- many of them from local people in Norfolk- and are delighted the paddock can be opened on the day of the christening," the statement from the palace reads.

Kate and William are also parents to their son, George, who will be turning two in July. He is expected to be at the church where people should be able to see him taking his steps inside.
