'Empire' Season 2: New Episodes To Be Explosive, Star Says They'll Will Make Old Ones 'Look Like 'The Brady Bunch'' [VIDEO]
It’s no secret Empire had fans sitting on the edges of their seats waiting for another crazy bomb to drop; well word is that’s nothing compared to all of the drama that will be going on in season 2.
One of the show’s stars Jussie Smollett (who plays Jamal Lyon) spoke with E! News during the BET Awards pre-show Sunday and let out some of the juicy details (but not too much).
“A lot more to look forward to. We just started season two in Chicago. It’s…it’s a lot. But it’s special it’s gonna be a good moment for sure…Season one…It’s that times 20 million. I keep joking saying that we make season one look like ‘The Brady Bunch.’ It’s going there, for sure.”
Meanwhile, Taraji P. Henson who plays the hilarious and now infamous Cookie, has returned to the set after going on a brief hiatus. She was admitted to a hospital after suffering from exhaustion last month.
Smollett gave an update on the status of her health and said, “Mama needed some rest. We’ve been going and going and going. She probably has more than anyone just traveling the world. She had to tap out for a moment. But now she’s brand new, being the Taraji we all love.”
He also joked, "Being sick is a good diet plan. Mama looking good!”
Co-creator and executive producer looks happy to have Henson back as well. He posted a photo of the two getting down on the set.
