Shmurda is currently incarcerated and facing a number of charges that allegedly include conspiracy to commit murder as well as drug charges. A trial was supposed to take place last June, but it's been extended to October. The artist's attorney Kenneth Montgomery explained that a lot still needed to be done before the trial takes place.

"There's 13 defendants in the conspiracy case, each of them charged with different underlying charges and conduct and the government just ordered swabs from the guy and it takes time to get the swabs done, DNA wise," Montgomery said via BET. "There's other issues and more discoveries to come, so I suspect on the 25 that the case is going to be adjourned for some time, which is more realistic going forward."
