Amanda Seyfried wowed in a stunning black gown during the UK premiere of Les Miserables. The petite actress graced the red carpet with co-star Anne Hathaway Tuesday evening in a futuristic flamenco Valencia gown at Leicester Square.

Seyfried's low cut dress showed off her cleavage and the ruffles around her hip accentuated her slim figure. The black dress definitely made the 27-year-old look very sophisticated as she smoldered on the red carpet.

Following Seyfried, who plays Cosette in the movie, was Anne Hathaway who equally stunned in a very slinky pearl Givenchy gown.

Seyfried spoke about shooting the film with Hathaway to New York Times, saying: "My first day of shooting was with Annie. So I was able to extract some of her essence, so I could infuse it into Cosette. She gave me such sensitivity and warmth, this maternal kind of grace that I realized then that you needed to recognize in Cosette. It was really helpful."

Hathaway had to lose 25 pounds to take on her role as Fantine in the film adaptation of "Les Miserables." She also had to cut off her long locks and sport a very short cut, her most extreme hair transformation for a film yet.

"When I eventually looked in the mirror I just thought I looked like my gay brother," Hathaway told an audience on Nov. 23 at the first screening of the classic musical. The film screened for the first time on Friday in New York City's Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall.

"Les Miserables" stars Hugh Jackman, Samantha Barks, Eddie Redmayne, Russell Crowe, Amanda Seyfried, Helena Bonham Carter and Sacha Baron Cohen. The film will have stiff competition at this year's Oscars in the best picture category based on the success of "Argo," "Lincoln" and "Silver Lining Playbook" but if it wins, it will be the Universal Studio's first best picture victory since 2001's "A Beautiful Mind."

The novel "Les Miserables" was written by Victor Hugo originally in French and first published in 1862. A Broadway show followed, upon which the film is based on.
