Morgan Freeman's step-granddaughter was murdered in a bizarre and frightening scene.

Nick Gordon 'Distraught' After Rehab Stint?

On Sunday, New York Post reported that 33-year-old 'E'Dena Hines was stabbed to death by her boyfriend after apparently trying to do an exorcism on her on a Manhattan sidewalk. A witness named George Hudacko reportedly witnessed the attack when he claimed he saw the suspect scream, "Get out, devils! I cast you out, devils! In the name of Jesus Christ, I cast you out!"

"The girl was making a lot of noise, screaming," Hudacko said when he saw Hines and dialed 911. "I saw something sparkly going up and down...I called 911, I was begging them to come."

Did Drama Erupt At Bobbi Kristina Brown's Funeral?

Hines is the granddaughter of Jeanette Adair Brandshaw who was the first wife of Freeman. Cops say she died just before 5am on Sunday morning.

When police arrived at the scene, the boyfriend was apparently still stabbing Hines even after she died. He was still screaming hysterically over her.

Freeman released a statement on his grief over Hines' death.

"The world will never know her artistry in talent, and how much she had to offer," the actor's statement reads. "Her friends and family were fortunate enough to have known what she meant as a person. Her star will continue to shine bright in our hearts, thoughts and prayers. May she rest in peace."

There were rumors in the past that Freeman and Hines were involved romantically, but the actor smashed those rumors in 2012.
