The actress, who was recently nominated for an Emmy for her portrayal of Diane Lockhart on the CBS legal drama, also talked to the publication about how The Good Wife opened up a rich avenue for her.

Baranski revealed that while Alicia (Julianna Margulies) will be facing a lot of conflict because of her recent political debacle and Peter Florrick (Chris Noth) now running for the democratic candidature in the presidential elections. But she will emerge stronger and return to what she knows best. Additionally, she also suggested that there will be a lot of drama courtesy Louis Canning (Michael J. Fox).

Oliver Platt Returning For Season 7

"Alicia is, of course, not running for office, but having a great deal of ambivalence about having to be the wife of the man that's running," she said, "Because of the political scandal she was involved in, with all the recounted votes, and her reputation tainted, now she's trying to get back to a more essential part of her being, which is just really loving the law. So it starts with her in bond court. And of course, good old Lockhart Argos Lee, as it's now called, has its share of internal turmoil, and Louis Canning is always lurking in the shadows, wreaking havoc."

While speaking about how the show has contributed to her acting career, Baranski suggested that it helped her veer away from comedy:

"Having done so much comedy in my career, it really is wonderful. It's the same network, and each show is prestigious in its own right. Each show will go down in history, and I happen to be in both of them-it's just such a gift."

Season 7 is set to premiere on CBS on Sunday, Oct. 4 at 9 p.m.

The season 6 finale, entitled 'Wanna Partner?' aired on CBS on May 10.
