Just like the rest of the country, LeAnn Rimes has admitted to being deeply disturbed by the horrific shootings at more than a dozen people at Umpqua Community College in Oregon this past week.

According to Xpose on Saturday, Rimes -- who has been out of the headlines for quite some time now -- took to her social media networking accounts to express how she feels about the attack, which killed 13 people and left an estimated 20 other injured, tweeting out the following message:

The killer, Chris Harper-Mercer, staged an attack at Umpqua Community College on Thursday.

The United States has seen an increase in gun violence for the past several years. Hollywood actress Amy Schumer expressed her thoughts on the situation when a man killed several people in a Louisiana theater during the screening of her movie, "Trainwreck" this past summer.

"No one wants to live in a country where a felon, the mentally ill or other dangerous people can get their hands on a gun with such ease," she told reporters at the time.

Schumer added, "The critics scoff and say, 'Well, there's no way to stop crazy people from doing crazy things,' but they're wrong. Preventing dangerous people from getting guns is very possible, these shootings have got to stop. I don't know how else to say it."
