Carrie Underwood Had To Give Up Hobby During Pregnancy?

The country star, who's married to hockey player Mike Fisher and share eight-month-old son together, spoke to People on Thursday about how she's not the person she used to be before she became a mother.

"Your marriage does change a lot when you have a baby- it's whole new dynamic," she said. "Neither one of us had really been baby people or been around a ton of babies. We're learning together."

The singer pointed out how important it is to give marriage the attention it needs and to not let other parts of life take that away.

"You have to make it a point to not lose yourselves as a couple," she said. "There's so much going on, it becomes easy to not focus on your marriage anymore."

Even though it hasn't happened, Underwood said that she and her husband would consider marriage counseling if they felt like it was necessary.

"Definitely, yeah," she said. "We've never done it, but even if you don't necessarily quote-unquote think you 'need' it, it might just be good to have that space to talk things out."

Underwood pointed out something in her marriage that helps make it work.

"I feel like Mike and I treat it like a partnership, which is a really good thing for both of us," she said. "I'm not the maid and I'm not the cook, you know what I mean? I do those things when I do them because I like to and want to. You just figure out your roles and the things that each of you do better, and you give and take."
