The CW announced plans to order a pilot for a prequel to Sex and the City based on the bestselling book “The Carrie Diaries,” by famed author Candace Bushnell.

It will revolve around the teen Carrie Bradshaw during her senior year of high school in the 1980s as she navigates her way through school, boys, fashion, and of course, New York City.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, the heads behind "Hart of Dixie" and "Gossip Girl" will executive produce the series. Former "Sex and the City" writer and co-producer Amy B. Harris is adapting the book and will serve as the showrunner for the pilot.

If this prequel includes as much Manolos, (virgin) martinis, and men—er…boys, the new wave of dazed and confused teen girls will for sure get ‘Carried’ away with this series.
