Is there a slight possibility that Jeff may wind up surviving that heart-stopping moment on Nashville?

Chatter On Scarlett's Heartbreaking Decision On 'Nashville'

After plunging off a building while saving Juliette from attempting suicide, it seemed pretty likely that Jeff would've been killed after falling several stories. But in an interview with Scripps National News posted on Tuesday, Chris Carmack (Will) was asked if there's a chance that Jeff is still alive.

Carmack responded, "I cannot tell you."

Is Rayna Going To Have Tense Relationship With New Character On 'Nashville?'

So while that remains a mystery, the actor came up with his own theory that Jeff might have massive superhero powers.

"I wouldn't be surprised if Jeff Fordham halfway down threw out bat wings and just flew off into the night," Carmack joked. "Yeah, he landed on top of the Batman building and just went into hibernation. I think that's what's gonna happen."

With that being said, Charles Esten (Deacon) appeared in the interview where he dished on his character dealing with a good haul of issues lately- this includes his sister dying, his drinking problem, a liver transplant and his troubled love life with Rayna. As hard as this is, Esten mentioned why he enjoys portraying someone with a lot of problems.

"You want to play a character that's been through so much," he said. "I've done this for over 20 years and I've played a whole lot of characters that weren't going through so much. So I would always prefer to play someone who's living life, that's what it is. [Deacon's] a human being and if you're a human being at this age, you've gone through things in your life."

Esten added that he wishes Deacon and Rayna will "end up happy together somewhere along the line."

Nashville airs on Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
