Their divorce made huge headlines and broke country music fans hearts over the summer, but Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert are scheduled to both be in the same place tonight during the CMA Awards.

Blake Shelton & Gwen Stefani Don't Want A 'Big, Public' Relationship?

Now, there's not really much hope for those still shipping a reunion between the two spouses, but many are wondering just how awkward things could get during the show, which will be the first public event both have attended since announcing their split in July. And though they seemed to be on good terms when things ended, even the most amicable of break-ups can result in awkward run-ins.

First of all, there have been those rumors that Shelton has moved on with his The Voice co-star Gwen Stefani-and TMZ reports she has also flown down to Nashville for the CMAs, which aren't a part of her usual awards show circuit. Whether or not she attends with Shelton remains to be seen-but that could prove to be extremely awkward at the first awards show that both Lambert and Shelton attend.

Blake Shelton Admits The CMA's Will Be Awkward

However, should Stefani attend, it may not be as awkward as expected. According to other reports, Lambert expected that something would eventually develop between her ex and his co-star-meaning that if she sees them together it won't be the worst thing.

"She was not surprised to hear of the romance between Blake and Gwen. They were always pretty flirty," sources have said. "Miranda and Blake were on the rocks on and off and knew that this could always be a possibility...Blake is just a flirty kind of charmer. She has nothing against Gwen and thinks she is a very talented artist. Whomever Blake is with she wishes them the best."

Regardless of whether or not the couple has a run-in, it's guaranteed a few jokes will be made at their expenses throughout the night as well-which is awkward in itself.

No matter what happens, hopefully it'll be civil. Kind of like Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr at the Vanity Fair Oscars after-party in 2014.
