A Deadline report has revealed that How to Get Away With Murder showrunner Pete Nowalk has just signed a pretty substantial deal with ABC.

Nowalk has come on board for a three year contract which will see him continue in the role of execuitve producer and showrunner of How to Get Away With Murder and additionally he will be tasked with developing new projects. Deadline stated that this means the Viola Davis series will quite certainly be renewed for another season.

Right now, season 2 of How to Get Away With Murder is on hiatus through the holidays after it's pretty thrilling fall finale. Recently the mid-season premiere date for the show was also revealed. The ABC series is set to return with the rest of this chapter on February 11, 2016.

Will Nate Rat Annalise Out?  

Meanwhile, to pacify fans who are busy solving the rest of the puzzle and eagerly anticipating the aftermath of Annalise's (Davis) shooting in the mid-season finale, Nowalk has offered some insights.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Nowalk hinted at the fact that nobody could really be trusted. The showrunner revealed that when the series returns, it will be two weeks after Annalise's shooting.

He gave this detail away while talking about Asher's (Matt McGorry) involvement with the murder crew going forward.

"He is definitely part of the murder crew, especially now that he knows they killed Sam (Tom Verica)," he said. "Out of all of them he is the least equipped emotionally and psychologically to handle this in an OK manner. What's fun about when we come back is it will be two weeks later and we'll see how the dynamics have changed and if any of them have been able to move on from this."

The finale episode, titled "What Did We Do?," aired on ABC on Nov. 19.
