We now know when Mendeecees Harris of VH1’s Love & Hip Hop New York will be going to jail.

Mendeecees Harris Comes For Fan Who Throws Shade At His Legal Woes

Harris is scheduled to begin his eight year sentence next week on Jan. 19, Bossip reported Wednesday. But if he has his way, the terms will change. Right now, he’s supposed to go to Allenwood Low facility, which is located in Pennsylvania, a few hours away from New York. But he is hoping he can get a little leeway and be transferred to a one that is closer to New York City so his wife, Yandy Smith, can visit him.

He hopes he will instead be at the Otisville federal prison, which is less than two hours away.

Mendeecees Harris Speaks On When He’s Going To Jail

His term comes just before his only daughter, Skyler’s first birthday on Jan. 26.

He’ll have to wait a little longer before he finds out where he is serving as the judge presiding over his case, Judge Frank Geraci, told Harris that he did not have the authority to decide where he spends his time. It’s rather up to the U.S. Bureau of Prisons. Still, the judge did what he could to help Harris and his family be closer.

Geraci said in court documents obtained by the site, “The court recommends that the defendant Mendeecees Harris be placed by the Bureau of Prisons as close to New York City as possible. However, the ultimate decision is the Bureau of Prisons.”
