He might be a household name thanks to his career with the hugely popular boy band One Direction, but it looks like Zayn Malik is trying to do what very few British singers manage to do on their own: make it in America.

A new report says the singer is willing to do whatever it takes to not only climb the charts in the States, but to also work with some of the biggest names in the industry.

According to Xpose on Tuesday, Malik--whose new single "Pillowtalk" is making waves on the radio--recently revealed that he would love to work with singers like Chris Brown, Justin Timberlake and Usher.

Who Do You Think Zayn Malik Stays In Touch With From One Direction?

He said, "'I'd love to work with all of them at some point. They're all obviously massive icons in their own right and obviously to be on the same label as them is crazy, so if the opportunity arises, I'm not going to turn any of them names down.''

Malik also said that he feels completely responsible for his own songs now that he's a solo artist.

He explained, "'I'm in control of things now, so I can't really complain. And if I do complain, or if I do have something to say, people will just turn around and say, well, you decided to do it this way, so it's your fault. Which I kind of like, being the person who takes responsibility and having my neck on the line. Because when we do well then I take the reward for it, as well.''

Malik's debut album, Mind of Mine, hits stores March 25.
