Still a couple years away from its slated 2015 release, fans of the epic Star Wars franchise eagerly await news surrounding its upcoming installment.

Creator George Lucas recently spoke to Bloomberg Business Week and revealed that plans for Star Wars: Episode VII film were underway well before he sold Lucasfilm to Disney in October 2012.

To top it off, he accidentally revealed details about original Star Wars actors Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher possibly returning to reprise their roles.

"We had already signed Mark and Carrie and Harrison - or we were pretty much in final stages of negotiation. So I called them to say, 'Look, this is what's going on,'" Lucas said. "Maybe I'm not supposed to say that.  I think they want to announce that with some big whoop-de-do, but we were negotiating with them."

He added, "I won't say whether the negotiations were successful or not."

The Star Wars mastermind admitted that he still experiences excitement over the franchise even after all these years.

"To be involved in this next iteration of the Star Wars series is more exciting than I can talk about," he added. "I mostly say, 'You can't do this. You can do that. The cars don't have wheels. They fly with antigravity.' There's a million little pieces. Or I can say, 'He doesn't have the power to do that,' or 'he has to do this.' I know all that stuff."

The possibility of Ford, Hamill and Fisher reuniting in the future flick is "far from outlandish," according to The Huffington Post.  The three actors played Han Solo, Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia respectively in the first three Star Wars movies.

Fisher told Palm Beach Illustrated that she would indeed be appearing in Episode VII by saying, "Yes.  I thought it was already common knowledge."

However, she was said to merely be "joking" by her representatives, according to the publication.

J.J. Abrams is set to direct the upcoming blockbuster.
