Tamar Braxton is definitely doing it all, and now that she has opened up about her success, she revealed what she thinks caused it. And fans might be a little shocked.

“Reality TV has everything to do with my comeback,” she told Forbes magazine earlier this month. “A lot of people didn’t know who Toni’s little sister Tamar was outside of the music industry. My shows let a lot of people see my personality and they pretty much fell in love with my journey.”

Fans met Braxton and her family when their show Braxton Family Values debuted on WeTV back in 2010. She and her husband Vincent Herbert scored their own spinoff Tamar & Vince shortly after. Braxton added that it has also helped her and her sisters give an inside look and send a special message for fans watching them and wanting to accomplish their own dreams.

What Made Tamar Braxton Change Her Mind About Wanting More Kids?

“At first I just really saw it as something I could do to show people from every walk of life that if you have a dream and work really hard that, yes your dreams can come true. It was important for me and my sisters to get on TV and be as real as we can be. We wanted to show everybody that we are all one in the same.”

Still, Braxton, who recently had a huge health scare, said that her first hiatus from the industry during her twenties was definitely something she needed before her rise to fame.

“I am grateful for the break that I had because now I really see things for what they are and that’s a blessing. I truly appreciate all of the opportunities and I appreciate every Tamar Braxton fan that comes up to me and wants to take a picture. I don’t get jaded.
