This New Food Scanner App Will Help You Keep Up With Your Diet! [VIDEO]
The DietSensor SCiO scanner has picked up the CES Innovation Award in software and apps for 2016.
This new device and app helps scan and breakup the chemical composition of the food being consumed. The app can be downloaded to your phone, and then any food can be conveniently scanned and analyzed. The app has been designed to pick up on the molecular makeup of the food, and immediately create a nutritional report for the user.
The DietSensor was launched at the 2016 International Consumer Electronics Show as a nifty gadget with a sensor called SCiO. This technology has been developed to help people afflicted by cardiovascular diseases and diabetes.
In fact the creators of this technology, the Founders Remy and Astrid Bonnasse conceptualized it in 2014 after their 9-year-old daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. Her condition required constant monitoring of her food, i.e. carbohydrate intake of each meal and to measure insulin.
So while this gadget will be great for dieters it's essentially more useful for people who need to be mindful of their intake of certain components of food because of risky health conditions.
The device has been priced at $249 and the app comes with a monthly fee of $10.
