A new motion poster for Independence Day: Resurgence brings to life the previous posters for the film.

The poster, which was unveiled via the movie's official Twitter account, animates the promo image for the Resurgence we have seen so far. In it the globe is rotating with the glimmer of the sun coming up from the top behind it, and as the view expands outward the alien spaceship is visible hovering over the earth. Then the ominous tagline appears: "We had twenty years to prepare. So did they."

Resurgence has been directed by Roland Emmerich and also stars Bill Pullman, Sela Ward and Jessie Usher.

Here's the official synopsis for the film:

"We always knew they were coming back. After INDEPENDENCE DAY redefined the event movie genre, the next epic chapter delivers global spectacle on an unimaginable scale. Using recovered alien technology, the nations of Earth have collaborated on an immense defense program to protect the planet. But nothing can prepare us for the aliens' advanced and unprecedented force. Only the ingenuity of a few brave men and women can bring our world back from the brink of extinction."

The latest trailer for the movie was unveiled at the Super Bowl last month.

Independence Day: Resurgence will hit theaters on June 24, 2016, with the independence day just around the corner.
