Ian KcKellen announced at the British talk show The Jonathan Ross Show that he would be performing the marriage ceremony for his friend and X-Men costar Patrick Stewart and his fiancé, jazz singer Sunny Ozell.

The 73-year-old announced that he would marry the couple - Stewart, who is 72 and Ozell, 35.

"I'm going to marry Patrick," McKellen had said after listing out his and Stewart's several collaborations. "No, no. How else do you put that? I'm going to officiate at his wedding."

According to the report, when asked how the actor would legally marry the two, McKellen said truthfully, "I don't know. But in Massachusetts, in the middle of America somewhere, you get anybody along, a friend, and I read out the words, and Sunny and Patrick will then be married. I declare you man and wife."

Stewart and Ozell have been in a relationship since 2009.

This would not be the first time McKellen officiated a marriage.

"I've done it once before with two guys having a civil partnership. I was crying my eyes out," he said.

He is currently costarring in the comedy series Vicious with Derek Jacobi. The series depicts an elderly gay couple who have been living together for 48 years "and they're perfectly horrible to each other," McKellen said.
