iPhone SE is newly designed and marketed by Apple Inc. as part of the iPhone series of devices. It serves as a replacement for the iPhone 5S as a lower-cost entry in the iPhone product line; combining the updated processor, camera, and other features from the high-end iPhone 6S with the smaller 4-inch display and nearly identical styling to the iPhone 5S.

It is available in gray, silver, gold, and rose-gold finishes. Apple stated that cases designed to fit the 5S will fit an iPhone SE.

As with the 6S, it incorporates the Apple A9 system-on-chip, M9 motion processor, and has support for near field communication (NFC). iPhone SE features a 4-inch Retina Display at 326 ppi. It is available with either 16 or 64 GB of internal storage. It features the same 12 megapixel rear-facing camera as iPhone 6S, however it has the 5S's 1.2 megapixel front-facing camera.

The Wall Street Journal’s early review said the “standout news is battery life.” Based on the Journal’s stress test, the SE lasted 10 hours. That beats both the iPhone 6s and iPhone 5s by two hours and is about three hours longer than the Galaxy S7, according to the Journal.

It's the iPhone 5s, remastered. It has the same components as the $800 phone most of these kids have in their pockets, for literally half the price.
