Hydra: The Next Generation is wreaking havoc on Agents of SHIELD.

People as inherently evil as Marvel's Hydra heads should not be allowed to be parents, plain and simple. First Wolfgang von Strucker's son entered the fray, and now Coulson's (Clark Gregg) team will have to content will Malick's (Powers Boothe) little girl.

Stephanie (Bethany Joy Lenz) dropped into the story as "Parting Shot" came to a close, and viewers can rest assured that she is no angel.

"What's interesting to me about the end of that [episode] is it seems like she was just raised in the family business," executive producer Jeff Bell told Entertainment Weekly. "It's not what you expect."

Unfortunately, it doesn't look as if Step will get to make a major impact until late in the season. Lenz is not listed as appearing in either "Watchdogs" or "Spacetime," although her omission from recent press releases could have more to do with SHIELD's desire to keep her reveal a secret and less to do with her lack of involvement.

Whatever the case, Stephanie's inclusion in the story will have a major impact on Malick's season 2 trajectory.

"Powers Boothe really has done a great job this season, and not just being like 'I'm a heavy bad guy, head of Hydra,' but we really take him to interesting places going forward and I think he does a great job," Bell explained. "A big part of that is the relationship he has with his daughter. I look forward to you getting to see that."

While we wait to see what Malick's offspring has to offer, SHIELD will face off with an anti-Inhuman militia in "Watchdogs." Armed to the teeth and looking to put as many powered people in the ground as possible, the Watchdogs will pose a formidable threat to Daisy's (Chloe Bennet) kith and kin in episode 14 (see a preview below).
