So it’s no secret that Tamar Braxton and her husband Vincent Herbert are still in wedding bless. But we had no clue she once went on a date this infamous athlete before meeting Herbert.

Braxton and her The Real co-hosts were dishing on Kobe Bryant’s upcoming final game before retirement when Braxton revealed their history together.

“I remember first meeting Kobe in Philly. This is when he first got drafted. We kind of went on a friendly date. We went to Friday’s and discovered we were homies.”

Tamera Mowry-Housley also dished on crushing on Bryant back in her and her twin, Tia Mowry Hardrict’s Sister, Sister days.

“He actually was a guest star on Sister, Sister. I can remember my sister and I just looking at him and we had the biggest crush on him. Then he took Brandy to prom. Y’all remember that? He was really, really focused.”

Braxton has never been one to shy away from dishing on her love life before and during her relationship with Herbert. In fact, the two have starred in two reality series—Braxton Family Values & Tamar & Vince together.

In another recent episode of The Real, Braxton and the ladies dished on how she has bounced back from splits in the past.
She and Adrienne Bailon agreed that “break ups can have a positive influence on your life.”
