While many fans noticed that Beyonce rocked the 2016 Met Gala red carpet solo, some might not have observed that she wasn’t wearing her wedding ring amid all of the alleged drama between her and Jay Z.

Apparently it was all because she and the rapper got into a screaming match just moments before she took off for the event.

“Bey and Jay have been fighting non-stop or not talking at all,” one source said in the latest issue of Life & Style magazine. “Before the Met Gala, Beyonce hissed at him that she was going alone.”

Jay Z then decided he didn’t want to go to the event with a woman scorned. So he “slammed the door and took off.”

It looks like that’s when Beyonce took off her wedding ring because she was seen without that night.

“Heading to the Met Gala alone with no wedding ring was a direct message. It was a stab at Jay Z.”

Apparently the message was to “show she can do things without him and doesn’t need him.”

This certainly wouldn’t be the first time drama broke out between the couple the evening of the Met Gala. It will be awhile before fans forget the moment Beyonce’s sister, Solange Knowles, attacked Jay Z in an elevator after the Met Gala festivities back in May of 2014. It’s not clear what happened since the raw footage captured from the hotel security didn’t have audio, but it’s safe to say Solange was not happy with her brother-in-law.
