It seems as though Tom Cruise isn't the hands-on father he likes to portray to the public. In fact, it looks like he's quite the opposite as there's a new report that says he's not only failed to visit his 10-year-old daughter Suri Cruise in the last two and a half years, but that there's also a good reason why he's no longer in her life, too.

Tom's religious beliefs and connection to the Church of Scientology forbids him to make contact with Suri, just because she's a "nonbeliever," sources told Page Six on Tuesday. After Tom's ex-wife Katie Holmes filed for divorce back in 2011, both she and Suri left the church, giving Tom no choice but to cut off communication with them.

And while some people think that Tom could try and visit Suri if he wanted to, it doesn't look like that's going to happen anytime soon.

"If he wanted to see her, he could see her," a source told the publication. "Even people in prison have a right to see their children."

Insiders say that Tom is definitely missing out by not being in Suri's life, as many close to her say that she's a "smart" and "well-behaved" girl who lives with mom Katie full-time and goes to school in Manhattan.

"She's thriving. She's got lots of friends and a nice, normal life. This is his loss, his issue, his problem," the source further explained. "He must be really brainwashed."

So far, Tom has not made any comments about the report. He did though win a $50 million defamation suit after Bauer Publishing hinted that he might have "abandoned" Suri back in 2012.
