It looks like the summer months are always the biggest season for celebrity breakups. There's a new report that says 50 Shades Darker actress Dakota Johnson is back on the market, as she recently pulled the plug on her two-year on-again, off-again relationship with Welsh singer Matthew Hitt.

The couple had actually broken up several times in the past, but it looks like this time it's for good. The two first started dated in the summer of 2014 and split for a period in early 2015 but were spotted together in the fall--leaving many to think that they'd worked out their differences and were staying together.

But on Wednesday Entertainment Tonight confirmed that the Johnson (who's currently filming the next installments of the 50 Shades series in Vancouver with her co-star, Jamie Dornan) and Hitt were done for good.

Interestingly enough, while Johnson was promoting her last movie, the comedy How to Be Single, she claimed that her role in 50 Shades had things harder when dealing the opposite sex (she was on a break with Hitt at the time). "Since the movie, men have been terrified of me," she told the Daily Record. "They think I'm really into that kind of thing."

That means that now that Hitt is out of the picture for good, Johnson will probably be spending some serious time alone...which is something she's cool with. In the same interview, the starlet claimed to not mind being solo.

"There are times that I feel lonely but then I just watch movies and read books," She said. “And I’m happy that I have the time to do those things – I cherish my solitude.”

So far, neither Johnson nor Hitt have made any comments about their breakup. 50 Shades Darker hits theaters on Valentine's Day in 2017.
