It looks like Supergirl's James Olsen isn't the only one fleeing Metropolis for greener pastures. Just as James wanted to step out from under Superman's shadow, Lena Luther will head to National City in hopes of distancing herself from her villainous brother.

Season 2 will bring several new characters into Kara's orbit, including two series regulars.

Described as "Smart and sexy," Lex's little sis will drop into picture as a 25-30 determined to get what she wants. Her end game in a mystery, according to TV Line, and it remains to be seen if evil is the Luther clan's genetic predisposition.

Nick Farrow, meanwhile, will join James and Winn as one of Supergirl's leading men. Unlike Kara's (Melissa Benoist) pals, however, this CatCo employee will hail from the blue-blooded upper echelon of journalism courtesy of his famous father. His privileged ways will cause friction at first, but, according to TV Line, "In hanging out with Kara, the hero in Nick might finally come out."

Does that mean we're looking at the origins story of a meta, or will Nick's heroism emerge as he work's to support Team Supergirl?

In addition, fans will be introduced to The Doctor, a journalist named Snapper Carr, and an LGBT detective named Maggie.

The Supergirl casting director will certainly be busy in the coming month. Production will resume in July, and, along with the aforementioned roles, the series will finally cast the iconic role of the Man of Steel. Set to appear in the first two episodes, Clark Kent will not be played by his cinematic counterpart, Henry Cavill.
