Look out, Flash; the mothers are coming.

It looks like Nora Allen (Michelle Harrison) won't be the only maternal figure grabbing a little screen time in season 3. Caitlin Snow's (Danielle Panabaker) family has remained in the shadows of the last two years, but her little Earth-2 hear-to-heart with Killer Frost (Panabaker) was a harbinger of things to come (see video below).

"We haven't met Caitlin's mother yet, so we got a little talk between the two women, which is something that will probably play out in season 3," executive producer Andrew Kreisberg told Entertainment Weekly.

Their mommy issues were a bonding point between the villain and the doctor (you know, before Killer Frost's murderous impulses kicked in), and Mrs. Snow sounds absolutely nothing like her Earth-1 daughter. Described as a "frigid narcissist" by Frost and "cold as ice" by Caitlin, mommy dearest is a Thanksgiving nightmare.

Flash left fans with plenty to talk about over the hiatus, but the overwhelming majority of conversations have focused on what the Flashpoint storyline means for Barry (Grant Gustin). At the moment, we're more concerned with what a new timeline holds for the STAR Labs team.

"The Race of His Life" saw Caitlin reeling from her abduction by the multiverse's most fearsome sociopath, leaving fans wondering if she'll ever fully recover. After two years of boyfriend drama (RIP Ronnie), perhaps a new spin on the timeline will bring good things for Dr. Snow.

For now, it's all up in the air. Carlos Valdes (Cisco) previewed the possibility of a Flashpoint storyline at Megacon last month, reminding fans that The Flash always puts their own twist on the source material.

"I think I can say this without a doubt: wherever we go from here, it's going to be unique and it's going to be different and it's going to honor the original chronology and the original lore while at the same time, writing a new spin on it," Valdes said, according to Comic Book. "I think it's that spirit that's allowed our shows to do as well as they do, so I ask the fandom to have faith."
