Although Iron Man 3 seems to be the primary focus of Marvel Comics, it hasn't stopped Thor 2 from making a splash on the movie scene, as a brand new teaser poster is now in circulation.

Marvel president of production Kevin Fiege boasted to USA Today about actor Chris Hemsworth's (Thor) impact on the blockbuster role.

"It doesn't get much badder than Chris Hemsworth as Thor," he said.

Feige went on to explain that the enticing poster was obtained from a standard shooting day during the Thor sequel, which features new director Alan Taylor at the helm, best know for his work on HBO's Game of Thrones.

"It's rare that you have a poster that is just Chris Hemsworth shooting on the set. But he just looks like Thor. We just put in some lightning, and he's got his hammer and you're there. It's just an incredibly striking image," Feige added.

Thor 2: The Dark World will also see the return of Natalie Portman and Tom Hiddleston, who will be reprising their roles as Jane Foster and Loki respectively.

At the beginning of January, Hiddleston had spoken to Belfast Telegraph on the happenings on set between the cast and crew during filming.

"It's fantastic, truly. We are making an amazing film, and we're having a wonderful time. It's so exciting to have established characters and an established characters and an established setting in the world, and we are working so hard to cook up something new," he said.

Hiddleston also commended his co-workers for their maximum effort into the project.

"That is what is exciting me, taking what we know, taking what we love and deepening it and giving it an extra dimension. I think director Alan Taylor is really shaping up the world of Asgard and the world of these characters," he added.

Thor 2: The Dark World is slated for its big screen release on Friday, Nov. 8, 2013.
