'Dragon Ball Super' News And Updates: Episode 52 Teaser Shows Bittersweet Reunion, Gohan To Train Again? [VIDEO]

The next episode of Dragon Ball Super would most probably be another character-building episode, this time focusing on an encounter between Future Trunks and his mentor from the future, Son Goku's firstborn son, Gohan. While the episode would probably not feature as much action as, say, the Goku vs. Black Goku fight, Episode 52 seems to be a very important episode nonetheless.

From what could be deduced from the teaser of the upcoming episode, it would seem like the search for the true identity of Black Goku would continue, as Whis, Beerus and Goku head off to Universe 10 in order to investigate a lead. According to recent leaks about the episode's summary, Goku would also challenge Zamasu, the mysterious Kai who has the same Ki as Black Goku.

As much as Whis, Beerus and Goku's quest to investigate Zamasu is interesting, however, the true focus of this next episode is the meeting between Future Trunks and Gohan, which will most certainly be very pivotal to the plot. After all, it was Gohan in the future who trained Future Trunks. Thus, for Future Trunks to see his master living as a scholar and a family man would surely be interesting.

Gohan's transformation from a fierce fighter that was being built up as the man who would best his father, into a pacifist family man who chooses to live the life of a scholar, has been a very controversial topic for fans of the Dragon Ball franchise. Many thought that his transition to a simple peace-loving man was extremely unfair to the character, while some believe that it was author Akira Toriyama's subtle message that being a life of peace carries more value than a life of constant battles.

Then again, rumors have been emerging that Gohan would play a rather huge part in the ongoing Future Trunks arc. Among these speculations is the idea that the revelation of Gohan's entire family, including the daughter that he dotes on, would be killed by Black Goku, might be the tipping point for the once-great Z fighter. With the threat of Black Goku destroying everything he holds dear, fans are speculating that Gohan might finally don his Gi and charge up his Ki once more.

If that does happen, then the current arc in Dragon Ball Super should definitely be the best one yet.
