Rihanna is not shy about causing controversy but her latest incident involved a child whom she called the N-word.

The Stay singer tweeted pictures of herself and a child on April 22 and captioned one photo "'My lil n***a." She also used the slur to state her intentions for the weekend in a tweet that read, "'It's the weekend and I am creeping with my n***az."

Almost immediately, offended fans began to tweet their disapproval over her continued use of the word. One user wrote, "The word is derogatory. If some cultures aren't allowed to say it. No-one should."

"So I love the hell out of her but that word I hate," another said.

Rihanna's casual use of the offensive term comes almost 16 months after the Dutch fashion magazine Jackie labeled her a "n***er b***h" in a fashion piece. The publication explained why it bestowed the singer with the title in their December 2011 issue.

"She has street cred, she has a ghetto a-- and she has a golden throat. Rihanna, the good girl gone bad, is the ultimate niggabitch and displays that gladly, and for her that means: what's on can come off," Jackie stated. "If that means she'll be on stage half naked, then so be it."

Rihanna lashed out in response via Twitter over being referenced in such a way. The Diamonds singer tweeted the following on Dec. 20, 2011:

"There are 1000's of Dutch girls who would love to be recognized for their contributions to your country, you could have given them an article. Instead, u paid to print one degrading an entire race! That's your contribution to this world! You put two words together, with the intent of abasement, that made no sense...'NIGGA BITCH'?!....Well with all respect, on behalf of my race, here are my two words for you...F--- YOU!!!"

The altercation left the editor of the magazine without a job. Since the 2011 incident Riri has made full use of the word with no intention of stopping, despite the pleas of her fans.
