McKayla Maroney is keeping it positive on social media.

On Monday, the former gymnast took to her Instagram page to post a new photo as she sits on a bench in a grey dress. As she crosses her legs and poses like a model, Maroney smiles for the camera and adds an inspiring message in the caption.

"happy monday :)," she wrote. "Quick reminder that ur a purposeful, amazing human being that deserves love, success, and happiness. (ok I'm done, lol love u guys)"

With the Olympics going well this year especially with gymnastics, Maroney previously dished to Us Weekly on how scary it was to say goodbye to the sport that was a part of her for so many years.

"I lost myself. It was an identity crisis, no doubt," Maroney said. "I would go and meet people and they'd tell me, 'You're the gymnast.' And I'm like, now that I'm no longer a competing gymnast, it throws people off and that would throw me off. I don't want to let people down. It was such a big test for me to be like, you know what? No! I'm worth more than a gold medal. I'm worth more than being a gymnast. I am not what I do. I am who I am and I'm what I love."

The athlete had some doubts about watching the Olympics, but she actually feels supportive of everyone involved.

"I didn't know how I was going to be able to handle [watching the Rio Olympics] because being an athlete and being in that world, it's almost like you're like, 'Oh man, I wish that I would've been able to be there,' but I have a total different outlook on it and I am so excited for these girls," Maroney said. "Like these newcomers, their whole life is about to turn upside down in the most beautiful way possible."
