The PlayStation 4 Pro is out. The Xbox One S has been released, with the Scorpio slated to arrive next year. For all intents and purposes, the next generation of gaming consoles has already started. The only thing missing is the third player in the game, Nintendo and its mysterious NX.

While rumors about the NX have been abundant for the past year, Nintendo has effectively managed to keep its next-generation gaming machine off the grid. Though the device is scheduled for an official March 2017 release, there is still practically nothing known about the device at this point.

Nintendo NX Set for Delay?

With Nintendo seemingly giving its fans and the gaming industry the silent treatment once more, speculations that the console's release would be pushed back have become very prominent. Indeed, numerous Nintendo fans are starting to believe that the Nintendo NX might end up being released later than March 2017.

A huge part of the reason behind these rumors is Nintendo's actions themselves. After all, numerous gaming conferences have already been done this year, and the gaming giant is yet to unveil anything about the device. Thus, many are stating that Nintendo might be taking its time trying to ensure that the NX would be a sure-fire hit.

Nintendo NX Last Hope for Nintendo?

The Nintendo NX plays a huge part in the grand scheme of things for the veteran gaming firm. For one, the success or failure of the NX might be the determining factor in whether or not Nintendo would continue to make its own hardware. If the Nintendo NX ends up like the Wii U, it might very well be the last console the Japanese firm will ever make.

Then again, if there's anything that Nintendo sure is doing, it is to build hype around the upcoming console. With the Nintendo NX's official release date only 6 months away, fans are clamoring for every bit of news about the device. As much as this is admirable, however, Nintendo is fully aware that to effectively bounce back into the hyper-competitive gaming console market, the NX would not only have to attract avid Nintendo fans, it would also have to endear new gamers as well.
