Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress Season 2 may be delayed due to Attack on Titan season 2. Many fans know that both anime series have the same director, which could be the reason for the latter's delay.

Now, it appears that it is Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress' turn to give way to its predecessor. As much as this is completely justifiable, however, WIT Studio, the production company of both Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress and Attack on Titan, might have miscalculated along the way.

While Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress was little more than a pet project for WIT studio to buy time while waiting for the Attack on Titan manga to provide enough material for a second season, the anime ended up being far more successful than it was designed to be.

Though Kabaneri had numerous flaws, its execution, coupled with its intense action sequences and its killer art and music, made for one enjoyable ride. Ultimately, anime fans noticed, and the series gained a notable following.

Thus, now that WIT Studio is dedicating its efforts and resources on Attack on Titan, the fans that Kabaneri was able to earn during its brief, three-month run are a bit disappointed over the notion that a follow-up season to the post-apocalyptic steampunk anime would be significantly delayed.

In fact, if the time it took to produce Attack on Titan Season 2 is to be taken into consideration, it would not be very surprising if Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress ends up being released sometime in 2019, possibly even 2020.

For now, Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress fans can only do what Attack on Titan fans have been doing for the last few years. That is, wait patiently until such time that a follow-up season finally gets produced.

Considering the quality and care that WIT Studio places on both Kabaneri and Attack on Titan, however, the wait, no matter how long, would surely be worth it.
