Marvel's Man of Steel will be gracing movie theaters across the U.S. very soon, and rumors continue to fly regarding its details.

According to a preview piece put out by Entertainment Weekly, Superman's (Henry Cavill) planet of Krypton will not be exploding and due to the danger he potentially presents to other Kryptonians, Baby Kal-El is catapulted into outer space.

Baby Kal-El is the only Kryptonian who wasn't genetically engineered to become a scientist or a soldier. He was born naturally, which instantly made him an outcast to his very own planet. However, General Zod (Michael Shannon) will come to Earth in an attempt to return Kal-El back to Krypton.

The two go against each other as General Zod (Boardwalk Empire's Michael Shannon) plays a Kryptonian tyrant who wants Clark to join him back on Krypton, while Clarke has to consider abandoning his post as defender of humans on Earth, according to the report.

The described plot and any return to his former planet would be a drastic change to not only "Superman's origin, but to his actual character," according to io9. If the planet of Kryptonite is indeed left unscathed, Superman may lose some of the enamor that makes up his motivations, thus changing the story of his past.

Man of Steel is set for release on the big screen on Friday, June 14. Be sure to check back for more up to date details on the future blockbuster.
