If you're a 90s kid that spent a bit too much time watching cartoons, you're probably super familiar with Anastasia.

The movie, released in 1997, focuses on a particularly interesting part of history and a daughter of the slain Russian royal family in the early 1900s. It's based on the legend of Grand Duchess Anastasia, and the claim that she escaped the murder of her family and reunited with her grandmother when she became an adult.

In the movie, she sides with con men, who think they're bringing an actress portraying Anastasia to her grandmother in hopes of a reward. What they don't know is that they actually had the real Anastasia with them all along, and that one of the con men will fall in love with her.

A musical adaptation of the story was announced in 2015, and the show is set to hit Broadway in April 2017. The very first teaser trailer was just released, and it looks GOOD.

Christy Altomare and Derek Klena will play Anastasia and her con man beau Dimitry.
