Ryan Fitzpatrick and Carson Palmer are both coming off career years, but unfortunately, neither quarterback is off to a great start in 2016.

Off the field, Fitzpatrick and Palmer have a great relationship as they've worked together in the past, but tonight, as Fitzpatrick's New York Jets take on Palmer's Arizona Cardinals, they both have something to prove and only one team can walk away with the win.

Luckily, their friendship seems quite solid either way. In fact, Fitzpatrick and Palmer recently engaged in a text message conversation about their combined 10 interceptions of the year.

Aside from their friendly jabs, Fitzpatrick and Palmer have had all good things to say about one another's talent.

“There’s a lot of throws he can make that I can’t make,” Fitzpatrick said of Palmer, according to a report by the New York Post on Saturday. “He’s the first pick in the draft. He’s an amazing, amazing talent, but there were a lot of things I could take from him by the way he was respected in that locker room and why he was so respected that have stuck with me.”

Meanwhile, Palmer recently weighed in on Fitzpatrick's ability to turn things around for his team.

“That’s Ryan’s DNA. Ryan will bounce back. He’s just that guy,” Palmer said. “He’s played a lot of football. He’s played for a lot of different teams, a lot of different systems. He’s always been counted out. I’ll be the first one to run around the locker room saying, ‘Don’t count him out,’ because he’s a great player and has been for a long time. He’s hit a couple bumps, and he’ll bounce back from those. Hopefully, it’s not against us.”
